36-year-old woman leaves wedding abruptly after being told there's no plus 1 for her date, a 42-year-old divorcee "Ted," he demands she return to the wedding after she arrives home: 'He got my brother in on it to also demand I come back'
Embarrassment is such a person feeling. It's like being exposed and vulnerable, but you have no safety. You're left abject to the ridicule and hearsay of others. Ted, the embarrassed man in the story, is left alone at a wedding and apparently stood up by not one but two different women. The protagonist is one one his dates, the sister of his best friend. She's doing him a favor, seeing as he's single for his first wedding after his divorce. She agrees to be his plus 1, but he doesn't follow through. She gets to the wedding and is shocked that she's apparently not on the guest list, and cannot enter the wedding. She goes home disgruntled but calm, only to find that her brother and ted keep bombarding her with messages to return to the wedding.
It's so easy to have drama surrounding a wedding. It's supposed to be the happiest day for the couple, but friends and family on the side lines often make it about themselves. Read the story below to see whose side you're on.
